“Knee specialist confirms my injury shouldn’t get in the way of the challenge but that I will need surgery when I return – great! Finalising plans and routes for the ride with Sports Tours and the arrangements for the support vehicle that Burn Tree are kindly providing for the whole challenge. Also finalising details for the events we have on the Saturday and Sunday evenings. On Saturday 28th July (5-8pm) we are having a fun evening and BBQ at Challenge 4 Change in Trafford Park, where there will be lots of activities and refreshments. Also some great raffle prizes. Everyone is welcome so please come down and show your support for the cyclists. Ex City starts Colin Hendry, Paul Lake and Neil Pointon will be there as well as a number of current rugby league players and our Bradley Wigginswannabees! Best sideburns win a prize. On Sunday 29th July (4-8pm) at the Ashlea Club in Clowne we are having a fun evening and BBQ. There will be lots of great raffle prizes, food and refreshments. Local boy and Premiership footballer, Matthew Lowton, who has just been signed for Aston Villa from the Blades will be there to pull out those lucky raffle tickets, with a main prize of an iPhone 4s being up for grabs.”
