We are pleased to announce that, due to excellent sponsorship, from Metronet (UK) that this year’s challenge is now re-named the Metronet-uk 2013 Tower 2 Tower Cycle Challenge. We are extremely grateful to Metronet-uk for their continued support.
We are also grateful to TGC Computers for their sponsorship again this year. It is also great that Phil Jones, from Brother UK has once again lent us use of their support vehicle and crew for the first day of the challenge – thanks Phil! Time is now fast approaching for entries to close so if you want to join us ON ANY STAGE of the challenge then please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Even if you only intend to do the first leg from Blackpool to Manchester we need your completed registration forms and entry fee before the event. We also need to order your t-shirt!
As part of my training I managed to complete the Great Manchester Run yesterday. The shin splints I have are very sore but I managed it in under the hour so am not too disappointed! It was also very hot but that’s better than the wind and rain that’s hindered the cycle training so far. Having said that I have a couple of 45 milers under my belt and serious training will now begin!
Two training events for your diaries if you want to join me are the Beaverbrooks Bike Ride on 9th June in aid of Trinity Hospice, which is 45 miles around The Blackpool area and sets of from Fairhaven Lake South Car Park and the Great Manchester Cycle, which takes place on the 30th June. I shall be doing the 52 mile version which sets off nice and early!
