The First day of the Metronet (uk) 2013 Tower 2 Tower cycle challenge got underway at about 11am from the prom in front of the tower.
The first pic shows the support van before it got busy.
A support car was also provided by Brother for the first day. 30 cyclists did the first leg of the ride to Challenge 4 Change which started down the prom to Lytham before continuing on the Preston.
The major stop was at Fredericks ice cream parlour in Chorley where the ice creams are very big – see pic!
We then cycled down the A6 to Walkden before diverting off through Trafford Park and to C4C – see pic of some of our cyclists reaching the finish.
At C4C there were some excellent refreshments and quite a few people turned up to experience the aerial activities – a great day all round which was dry and not too hot so a real bonus.
Tomorrow its the hilly day in the Peak District.
