The London based charity, returns for yet another year to host their annual family engagement event, testing both nerves and reinforcing self belief of what can be achieved.

On 7th June 2014, they returned for an action packed day of fun, challenges and engagement. The 60 participants-strong day event was fully inclusive, allowing the whole family to combine skills and help one another tackle some nerve racking obstacles whilst making new friends along the way.

Here’s what some of the participants made of the session.

What really touches us is the team spirit of everyone, as each challenge achieved is clapped and cheered with delight! In previous years, the children tended to be more brave than the adults, and 2014 was no different there. You really can see confidence grow throughout each session, and fear evaporate. It is “the highlight of their year”.

Those who made the Leap of Faith jump had the biggest smiles of the day – truly well earned grins!

The venue and particularly the team, were warm, welcoming and truly inclusive… everyone is encouraged to take part and do as much as they can.

Well done to everyone who took part on the day. We look forward to having Daytrippers over next year for yet another amazingly successful event.

About Daytrippers

>>Daytrippers was founded in 2003 to help children with disabilities, life limiting or terminal illnesses enjoy amazing experiences that might otherwise not be available to them.

We do this by providing funding for group daytrips (minimum of eight children with disabilities) and organising Daytripper’s own larger scale events. To date Daytrippers has helped over 21,000 children enjoy some fantastic trips, including days to theme parks, the seaside, museums, theatres, wildlife parks as well as more unusual experiences such as specially organised scenic flights.
