Hi Chris Just wanted to feedback some of the comments from young people and their families from the last 2 sessions we have attended. The session we attended on Monday 27th July, the young girl who I brought said she really enjoyed the session and she learnt that people are not always what they seem as she thought the other 2 girls who attended would have no fear and would be better than her because they were louder but actually what they projected out to others was not how they really are. This has helped Hollie a lot because many of the issues she faces are connected to pressure from peer group. The session encouraged Hollie and I to discuss identity, how people view others and others view us and the direct influence this has on our own behaviour. The session was an excellent catalyst for a very worthwhile and in depth discussion that has lead on to us completing some more work sessions on self image. The family I brought yesterday also really enjoyed it. The girls particularly welcomed the opportunity to spend sometime as a family. It was a joy to see dad and children working together and the youngest sister was particularly impressed with her dad's ability to do the leap of faith blind folded, "how cool is my dad" was her actual words. This is a family who do have problems with communication. The skills utilised in this session and the way everyone worked together as a family has given me a great opportunity to complete a family session on transferable skills using what was learnt in this session to real life family situations particularly in relation to listening, positive language and problem solving. Thank you for an excellent 2 days worth of creative, exciting and worthwhile real life work that will far extend the boundaries of the challenge for change centre. Cheers Joanne Eames

I am writing to thank you both for the excellent session we attended on the 20th July with our young people on the Youth Inclusion and Support Programme. The young people, aged 8-12, all had a fantastic time and we received some excellent comments from them after the session relating to team work, working as part of a group, having options and trying new and exciting things. Hi Chris can I just say a massive thank you for fitting us in at C4C. As new coaches of swinton lions we wanted to get all the squad new and old in to a different environment for their first session. We felt that we wanted the boys to meet away from rugby and to do something that would help them instantly bond as a team, as well as giving them a good solid conditioning session. The club and players thought that the session was brilliant. They were amazed at how your session got everyone to gel together in such a short space of time. All the players commented on how tough the session was but how fun it was. The confidence and team work that we took from this environment has filtered through to our training camp with team mates giving each other encouragement while pushing each other to their limits while always keeping the focus on team work that was brought out by our visit to C4C. We had never met some of the players before and they had never met each other before this night but they are now working together like a team who has been in each other’s company for a long time and we feel it is down to the first session at C4C. We would definitely recommend this activity to any team who wish to become a highly motivated and ambitious team in sport or business. Its bonding qualities are second to none. Thanks for everything Ian Watson & Paul Smith Swinton Lions

Dear Mark 4CT Girls Group Visit 9/12/09 4CT is a youth and community development charity based in East Manchester. Our girls group came to C4C because the participants has asked for 'risky' and 'life-threatening' activities. At C4C we did a range of team building and physical tasks, followed by a circuit of the 13 stage aerial challenge. The girls, aged between 12 to 17 loved every minute and by the end of the session were tired and exhilarated. The first comment was 'loved it - when can we go back?' Chelsea aged 17 Kelsey aged 12 said 'I was scared at first to try things but now I know I can do it' I'm sure the girls will still be talking about it for months to come - I'd have no hesitation on recommending the centre, whether a group want a team-building or bonding experience or just a fantastic, fun challenge, and best of all its all indoors so not dependant on our British weather! Thanks again Claire

FC United Visit 16/01/10 Hi - I am getting in touch to follow up from our squad's session at Challenge 4 Change on Saturday. I'm one of FC United's board members and came along to watch the fun. The feedback from the players has been nothing but glowing - they thought it was fantastic, and I've started seeing comments from some of our braver supporters that they would be interested in organising a fans' event too! On behalf of Andy, Karl and the squad can I say thank you for an amazing day out and I hope we'll be seeing you again. Kind regards, Helen Lambert FC United of Manchester.

For the last 8 weeks my son volunteered at C4C and received great help, support and encouragement from everyone. The family just wanted to say THANKS. Like many of our teenagers today he found the transition from school to college not to his liking left college and got caught up in substance use and petty crime receiving a youth offending order. We are really pleased to say he has reapplied for college and is slowly making strides to move on and enjoy his adult life. Once again a big THANKS to all at C4C keep up the good work. I thought the week went really well, particularly the activities that you provided for us. Please can you pass on my thanks to your colleagues. The children were really excited, motivated and certainly enjoyed it! It's a fantastic way to encourage the children to work as part of a team and keeps them active at the same time. It therefore meets the standards set by the National Curriculum. I thought that the ability of yourself and colleagues to work with the large groups that we allocated you shows fantastic management skills especially keeping 60 children engaged for 90 minutes. We will definitely want to book the challenge for change team in the future. Thanks again, Caroline Caroline Ford (Key Stage 3, PE) The Deanery High School, Frog Lane, Wigan, WN1 1HQ

The Freedom Project is a 16-week training and volunteering programme that takes place at the Mustard Tree (www.mustardtree.co.uk) , a Manchester charity working with the homeless and marginalised. Freedom Project volunteers are unemployed men and women, who are usually homeless, ex-offenders, care-leavers, recovering from an addiction or who have some kind of mental health issue. Freedom volunteers help us in on our delivery vans, in our warehouse, in the kitchen or with maintenance work. The project helps them to build confidence and a working routine in a friendly and supportive environment. We provide volunteer mentors for each Freedom participant to help them achieve their goals, and we host workshops in various skills for them to attend. The final element of the project is a monthly day out with the aim of teambuilding and having fun together. Our morning spent at Challenge 4 Change was one of the best days yet in terms of both teambuilding and fun. The staff at C4C were highly skilled and worked very well with our group. The group we had with us were of mixed abilities and temperaments, but everyone got involved and thoroughly enjoyed the activities. The challenges themselves were well-paced, engaging and brought out a competitive edge in volunteers and staff alike. One young offender who was with us on the day was so impacted by the activities that before we left he told me, "This has been the single best day of my life so far!" Well done and thanks to the team at C4C! Jez Green Freedom Project Coordinator The Mustard Tree

Dear Dennis, I am writing to you to personally thank you and your team for all your assistance with the recent visit the team and I made to Challenge 4 Change. Sarah will forward photographs that were taken on the day for you to use and we hope to visit you again in the near future. Once again thank you for all your time and effort in making the visit memorable and successful. Kind Regards Justin Morgan Head Coach Hull Kingston Rovers Craven Park Stadium

The session we had at Challenge 4 Change was excellent. We are always looking for that extra “something” that will give us the advantage over the other teams in the division, which is why we chose Challenge 4 Change. The coaches were excellent at emphasising the importance of teamwork and the challenges they set ensured that the lads had a lot of fun but also needed to work together as a team to succeed. We will be using Challenge 4 Change again as part of our quest to continually improve. And  its an added bonus that  Challenge 4 Change is a  charity and every booking  made with them means they can help more disadvantaged people in the community!

Chris and Dennis were really engaging and made the challenges thought provoking yet fun and enjoyable. Although there was no ball involved, the session brought out all the qualities I like to see in my team. There were elements of creativity, problem solving, team work, communication and leadership. I believe that personal development comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone and I was really proud to see the girls ‘step up’ to all the different situations individually and as a group. The team really bonded through the session and now have a trust in one another that can only be good for when we next step on the field. I can’t thank the challenge4change guys expertise and attention to detail enough and highly recommend the experience to sports teams, business organisations, schools, everyone!! Thank You
